Our Environmental PracticesAt Voyageur Adventures we are committed to making progressive steps to ensure we are leaving the smallest footprint on our environment as possible. Innately, the canoes themselves are a zero emission vehicle, of which we are very proud of. It is remarkable that a vessel fo its size can travel the distance that it does and the only traces left are the voyageurs footprints where it was put in and taken out. Vehicles
FoodFood items for our camp programs are purchased locally whenever possible. Sometimes the size of our bulk needs do not allow this. We make a strong effort not to buy items pre-fabricated or processed adn instead make many of our menu items by scratch and on-site whenever possible. Leave No TraceVoyageur Adventures holds our 'leave no trace' policy in high regard. We are very proud that even with programs of over 100 people over several days there is usually no indication we were present afterward. This environmental stewardship is a practice that we also try in instill in our participants, especially the younger generations. It is integral to all our programs. Currently we implore our guides to carpool to eliminate the amount of greenhouse gasses we contribute. We are currently researching converting oru flagship vehicle "Sherman" to Bio-diesel.
